Suzie & Carlos · A Sunset Portrait Session Through Amsterdam
A last-minute couples session along Keizersgracht and Reguliersgracht, photographed during a warm August evening as the city moved into golden hour.

Some sessions don’t start with a plan; they start with a feeling.
We met for coffee at Goodnews in De Pijp on a warm August afternoon, catching up on life while Carlos searched for the perfect iced latte for Suzie. After a stroll through Sarphatipark, the idea came together naturally: a last-minute portrait session before they jetted off to Greece the next day felt like a must.

I biked home to grab my cameras, then met them at their hotel before heading into the city as the light began to soften. We walked along Keizersgracht, letting the evening unfold without forcing anything. The city moved around us, golden hour settling in slowly, and Suzie and Carlos slipped into their rhythm with ease.
Suzie and Carlos are a wedding photographer and videographer team from Orlando, and people I’ve known from the creative world back home. When I saw they were honeymooning in Amsterdam, I knew we had to cross paths. A shared history, a city I now call home, and that rare window of time where everything feels unhurried.

We ended the session at Reguliersgracht just as the sun dipped below the canals. Quiet moments, shared glances, and that unmistakable glow that only Amsterdam at sunset can offer.
This session wasn’t about perfection or planning. It was about connection, spontaneity, and saying yes to the moment. Exactly the kind of story worth remembering.
